UK & Ireland law firm �������ϲ����� has been ranked again for its patent litigation and transactional work in the 2023 edition of IAM Patent 1000, the independent guide to the world’s leading patent law firms and practitioners.

The latest guide describes �������ϲ����� as “a dynamic firm with a young, talented team who are already disrupting the echelons of well-established IP litigation firms in the UK” and consider them a “daunting litigation prospect for any opponent in the IP arena”. Researchers also highlight direct client feedback which praises them for their ability to “handle work superbly”, for being “a major player in the market” and for “winning work from many of the older, more established firms”.

It also identifies �������ϲ����� partner and Head of the firm’s patent practice, Mark Daniels and partner Giles Parsons who is head of AI at the firm as two of its leading practitioners again. In addition, partner Nick Smee who works across the firm’s Energy & Infrastructure practice and partner Cat Driscoll who works across �������ϲ�����’s Retail, Consumer & Logistics practice have also been recognised as recommended individuals for the first time.

Mark is noted for “his ability to deal with clients and complicated matters effortlessly” and for building a “team of talented, like-minded people who share in his philosophy of a proactive approach on engaging clients and delivering success”. He is also praised for his “exemplary” litigation skills and for having “great foresight in litigation strategy”.

Giles is described as “a talented partner with a flair for complex technologies” and for possessing “a great intellect and attention to detail” and for having “an encyclopaedic memory for case law”. Clients were also impressed by hit “ability to rapidly absorb any technology and distil the relevant information, to make pertinent observations and provide clients with an appropriate strategy”. 

Researchers noted Nick’s “mix of transactional/contentious practice”, and Cat is “commercially oriented, with a significant base of work in the fashion and beauty sector”.

The latest IAM Patent 1000 rankings follow on from the 2023 Managing Intellectual Property’s IP Stars rankings in which the firm was ranked in the trade mark disputes - law firms category for 2023. Mark and Giles were also ranked as Trade mark stars, along with, partner and head of the firm’s UK&I commercial and IP practice, Declan Cushley.
