Our core values define how we operate as one firm, across our offices nationwide. We aim to work with, recruit and retain people who are genuinely committed to tackling society鈥檚 biggest challenges.

Inclusive

We work to build a law firm that reflects the society we serve. We鈥檙e committed to building an equal, diverse and inclusive culture where everyone鈥檚 voice and individual experience is welcomed. Our journey to embed equality, diversity and inclusion has been acknowledged by our recognition as a鈥痩eading social mobility employer in the UK.

We鈥檙e transparent in the way we treat everyone. Our鈥痸irtual careers fairs鈥痟elp us to recruit from under-represented schools and universities, we鈥檝e removed educational barriers to our training contracts and extended our pay gap reporting to include ethnicity. We mentor via a range of schemes, including the Law Society鈥檚 鈥楧iversity Access Scheme鈥.

We implement inclusive practices, recently partnering with the University of Nottingham on a project to remove gender-specific language from our job descriptions and advertising.

Our collaborative approach is two-fold. We work as one team nationally regardless of where we鈥檙e based 鈥 an approach which has been further strengthened by the pandemic and the need for remote working.

Not only do we build trusted client partnerships where we work collaboratively to spot opportunities, we connect clients to tackle challenges and inspire one another. Pragmatic

Our values and ambitions help clients to achieve their biggest objectives and tackle pressing issues. We deliver this by being up-front with one another and our clients, offering practical solutions and clear advice.

We use our legal knowledge and expertise to provide pragmatic and practical solutions. This clarity supports our clients in planning their next steps whilst considering what they want to achieve in the long-term.

Fair

We do the right thing by our people and our clients. We鈥檙e dedicated to building a culture which treats our people fairly. Our approach is transparent - we publish our鈥痝ender pay figures鈥痑nnually and have extended this to include ethnicity pay gap figures, whilst embedding equality, diversity and inclusion measures throughout the firm.

We treat everyone as individuals and tailor their development plans, offering equal opportunities throughout the firm. Our鈥疐AIRE access programme is also designed to engage, inspire and help develop students considering a career in the legal sector.
