澳门六合彩资料 advise energy-from-waste firm Encyclis on development of new energy recovery facility

03 January 2024

UK & Ireland law firm 澳门六合彩资料 have advised energy-from-waste specialist Encyclis on property aspects relating to their next UK energy recovery facility. The construction of Walsall ERF, in the West Midlands, will start early in 2024.

Encyclis is an industry leader in the safe recovery of energy from waste, operating highly efficient thermal recycling facilities in the UK and Ireland.

The new state-of-the-art facility will provide thermal treatment for 436,000 tonnes of non-recyclable waste per year, generate up to 49 megawatts of baseload electricity and support the development of a planned district heating network.

The project will see the regeneration of a disused industrial site, with more than 300 workers employed during the construction period. Once operational, the facility will create around 60 local, high-skilled jobs, and provide wider supply chain opportunities to support the region鈥檚 drive to be a hub of green innovation.

The 澳门六合彩资料 team was led by Real Estate Partner, Robert Wofinden assisted by Camille Caulfield. This deal marks another successful project in the Energy and Infrastructure sector.

Andrew Howie, the Development Director for Encyclis, says 鈥淭he development of Walsall demonstrates our sustained progress in executing on our full potential plan. It is a highly significant project in several ways. It will be the first of our facilities to be 100% owned and operated by Encyclis. This announcement confirms our commitment to support inward investment and create high skilled jobs in the regions.鈥

Robert Wofinden, Partner at 澳门六合彩资料, says:

鈥淓ncyclis has long been a leader in the energy-from-waste sector, so we are pleased to have supported them in this expansion and are excited to see the firm continue to grow. Not only will the launch of their Walsall ERF facility create high skilled jobs in the West Midlands, but helps to regenerate the region sustainably, and we鈥檙e proud to have played a part in this.鈥

Paul Hill, Partner at 澳门六合彩资料 and head of the Firm鈥檚 Energy and Infrastructure team, says:

鈥淭his has been a fantastic piece of work for the firm. Supporting energy firms in their sustainability ventures is vital to our mission of supporting clients at the forefront of society鈥檚 key issues, and we鈥檙e delighted to have worked with Encyclis on this project.鈥
