Paul is a specialist projects, infrastructure and non-contentious construction and engineering lawyer with over ten years' experience at leading international law firms. He is admitted as a solicitor in Ireland, Northern Ireland and England and Wales and has advised clients based in all three jurisdictions in connection with their domestic, as well national and international construction projects.
Paul’s client base includes funders, developers, employers, main contractors, sub-contractors, suppliers and consultants across the private and public sectors. He has extensive experience in relation to real estate development and energy and infrastructure projects, including in-depth knowledge of all the key standard form contracts in the construction and engineering sectors and bespoke forms of PFI / PPP contracts in Ireland, Northern Ireland and England & Wales. In addition, Paul advises on all types of ancillary and contract security documents, including advance payment, performance and warranty bonds, parent company guarantees, collateral warranties and direct agreements.

Paul has recently been advising a number of leading international tech companies on the expansion of their data centre networks across Ireland and the UK, providing specialist EPC and O&M contracts advice.
Inner city apartment development
Led the construction team advising a leading Irish bank on the construction aspects for the funding of a development of 250 apartments in County Dublin.

Major pub chain expansion
Advised a leading UK based drinks industry chain on the full suite of construction documents for the fit out and refurbishment of a number of existing properties in Dublin City Centre.
Offshore wind farm
Was a key advisor to the developer in relation to the geotechnical and geophysical site investigation contracts for the North Irish Sea Array Offshore Wind Farm, being one of the first offshore wind farms to be constructed in Irish waters. Involvement included both the drafting and negotiation of these contracts with the relevant contractors, as well as liaising with various statutory bodies and government departments to obtain the relevant employer permits and consents required for both the array area and export cable corridor investigations and surveys.
Onshore wind farm
Advised a leading international renewables developer in relation to the construction aspects of a large onshore wind farm project, including the turbine supply, installation and commissioning contract, maintenance services agreement, and civils and electrical balance of plant contracts.
PRS development
Was the lead advisor to a private equity investor in relation to the construction aspects for the funding of a major Private Rented Sector ("PRS") development in inner city Dublin.听
Rooftop solar framework
Advised a developer in relation to the procurement and delivery of a rooftop solar framework for a vast range of rooftop sites across Ireland, ranging from small residential to large commercial premises. Involvement included initial advice in relation to the contract structuring and procurement strategy, through to the drafting and preparation of the tender issue EPC and O&M contract documents to bring the framework to market.
Social housing and CNU PPPs
Paul has had extensive involvement advising on Irish PPPs recently, which has included advising a Works Co JV on the project agreement flow down and works contract for a large social housing bundle procurement by the NDFA, as well as a social housing / regeneration PPP in inner city Dublin. In addition, Paul advised Project Co in relation to the project agreements for a number of Community Nursing Units (鈥淐NUs鈥) across Ireland.
Solar farms and battery energy storage systems
Was lead advisor to the developer on the EPC and O&M contracts for two major solar farm clusters and related battery energy storage system projects in County Wexford.听
Student accommodation developments
Advised a developer on two major student accommodation developments, in Dublin and Cork, including the drafting of the building contracts, design team appointments and design sub-contracts, together with all ancillary, and contract security documents.
